Marcelo Nicolas Camargo

Professor of Strategy and Innovation Management at institutions such as CEFET/RJ, Candido Mendes University, Estácio de Sá, and SENAC, with solid experience at FINEP – a public company linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. Over approximately 14 years, he held leadership positions at FINEP, notably serving as Superintendent of the Applied Research and Technological Development Area (APDT) until April 2024. Currently, he is a senior analyst in the International Cooperation area (DCIN), linked to the institution’s Presidency.

With experience at companies such as IBM, VARIG, and investment funds, he has expertise in finance, strategic planning, and structural engineering consulting. He holds a Master’s degree in Administration from IBMEC/RJ, with specializations in France (DEA – Université de Toulon), UFRJ/INT (MBA in Competitive Intelligence), and Black Belt certification from GE (USA). He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from UFRJ.

At FINEP, he was responsible for creating and implementing strategic innovation programs in Brazil, such as PRIME, INOVACRED, Centelha, TECNOVA, INOVADOC, among others, as well as initiatives focused on sectors like defense, bioeconomy, and research infrastructure. He stands out for his structuring contribution to innovation environments and the promotion of science, technology, and entrepreneurship in the country.
