Izabela Gimenes Lopes is a biologist with a PhD in Science and Biotechnology and a civil servant at Fiocruz. She currently coordinates the Open Innovation Cell at Pólen – the Public Management Innovation Lab at ENSP-FIOCRUZ. She stands out in scientific innovation, leading projects recognized with the 4th Conexão Inova Award (2024) and the 5th Conexão Inova Award (2025). She serves as a mentor and project evaluator. Since 2003, she has researched alternatives to animal use and is part of the Innovation in Laboratory Animal Science group (CNPq/Fiocruz) and a researcher with the Research Group on STI for Management and Governance in Territorial Development (CNPq/Fiocruz).
