Mauricio Alves Syrio, mechanical engineer, graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ. He began his career as head of installation and elevation systems projects in the international division of the Thyssen Krupp Group in Madrid, Spain, where he coordinated projects implemented in Brazil and Argentina. Subsequently, he worked in the Economic and Market Studies Division at Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A., in Rio de Janeiro. He joined FINEP in 2002, where he worked in the planning area and in three operational departments. He held managerial positions from 2009 to 2024, serving as manager of the Oil, Gas and Naval Industry Department and the Monitoring Department. For 10 and a half years, he held the position of innovation superintendent. Currently, he works as a project analyst in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Environments department.
