Graduated in physics, with a doctorate in astrophysics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and a post-doctorate from the Observatoire de Paris/France. Experienced in the areas of extragalactic astronomy and ST&I management. Coordinated the Research Infrastructure area at the Secretariat of Policies for Training and Strategic Actions of MCTI. Since 2004, he has been working with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), currently serving as the General Coordinator of Innovation Promotion and Knowledge Spillover.
